Nestled just a short 10-minute walk from the vibrant heart of the city, the hostel offered breathtaking views of Lake Wakatipu and the majestic Walter Peak from the communal lounge, making every meal feel like a special occasion. My cozy room was perfect for solo reflection, complete with fresh linen, a bedside table, and reading lamp, giving me a peaceful haven after adventurous days exploring the stunning surroundings. The fully equipped communal kitchen fostered a sense of community among guests as we shared meals and stories, while the friendly staff ensured our stay was seamless and enjoyable, even accommodating my late check-in due to flight delays. Hippo Lodge Backpackers is not just a place to sleep; it's a delightful retreat that perfectly balances comfort and camaraderie, emphasizing a spirit of shared experience amidst the breathtaking backdrop of Queenstown.
